Today’s post is a pithy tribute to the late Fred Rogers of Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood fame.
This children’s television program aired on the Public Broadcasting System (PBS) from 1968 to 2001. Mr. Rogers passed away on 27 February 2003 from stomach cancer at the age of 74.
The embedded YouTube video is of Mr. Rogers’ testimony before Congress in 1969 that helped secure $20 million in federal funds for PBS (equal to $173,886,648.50 in 2025).
The reason I share this video is to highlight how special a man Fred Rogers was. He was a genuinely honest and humble man who made making the lives of children better his life mission. This video shows how he brought the best out of even the hardest people by simply projecting what was inside of him.
This video touched my heart, and I hope it touches your heart too.
In an age of “alpha males,” I’d rather be a Fred Rogers.
